The Brookfield Central Legend yearbook has once again been recognized among the nation's best, earning a place in the prestigious Walsworth Gallery of Excellence for the second consecutive year for their yearbook journalism and design!

The Gallery of Excellence is one of the highest honors awarded by Walsworth Yearbooks, recognizing fewer than five percent of the yearbooks the company prints each year. Publications selected for the Gallery demonstrate exceptional achievement in theme development, storytelling, design, photography, writing, and overall journalistic excellence.

This year, the Legend was one of only two Wisconsin yearbooks chosen for the distinction, placing Brookfield Central among an elite group of student publications nationwide. Along with this award, the program has seen incredible growth in students participating in the Legend Yearbook class and club. Just 3 years ago, the class had 21 students. Next year, over 90 students will be a part of the program.

Yearbooks selected for the Gallery of Excellence serve as national model books and are showcased at workshops, conventions, and training events across the country. Walsworth also features examples of their covers, spreads, photography, and design work in educational materials used to train yearbook staff nationwide.

For the students who create the Legend, the recognition reflects countless hours of interviewing, writing, photographing events, designing pages, and documenting the stories that define the Brookfield Central experience.

"Earning this recognition once is an incredible accomplishment," said Yearbook Adviser, Jim Brennan. "Receiving it in back-to-back years speaks to the dedication, creativity, and professionalism of our student staff. They continue to raise the bar for what student journalism can achieve."

Congratulations to the student journalists, photographers, designers, editors, and advisor Jim Brennan whose hard work earned the Legend this remarkable national honor for the second year in a row.
