Brookfield Central Junior Aidan Liu recently qualified for the prestigious 1st and 2nd Junior World Cups for short track speed skating! Liu will be heading to Italy, where he’ll compete in November, representing both Elmbrook and the United States in these high-stakes events. This achievement follows a number of recent accomplishments by Aidan including being named to the Short Track National Development Team and being the three-time National Champion in the Junior C Men's Division.

"Making the US Speedskating Short Track Junior World Cup team is a tremendous honor and a monumental milestone in my Speedskating journey. I’m incredibly grateful to my coach, teammates, and parents for their unwavering support,” reflected Liu. “I would like to extend special thanks to my teachers, counselor, and the staff both in my school and across the district. Their support and flexibility have been essential in allowing me to excel in both skating and my academic pursuits."

In addition to Aidan’s success, his brother, Aaron Liu (Brookfield Central ‘23), has also qualified for the 2025 FISU World University Winter Games, scheduled for January 2025. Aaron’s qualification also follows significant recent achievements including breaking a 15-year record in the Junior A Division’s 1000m.

We wish Aidan and Aaron the best of luck in their upcoming competitions and look forward to celebrating their successes on the world stage! You can see Aidan's recent Fox 6 High School Hot Shot profile here.
